Southland Community Facility Inventory Southland is a very ‘community orientated’ province consisting of a variety of recreation, sporting and community groups. As a result, there are also a variety of community facilities which meet and service the requirements of these groups. These facilities vary in their age, usage, standard and condition and many of them can require repair and maintenance, which can be a financial burden and pressure for community groups. Venture Southland, with the support of SPARC, is currently working alongside various Southland communities, Councils and funding agencies to evaluate the provision of these community facilities at a local and sub-regional level. It is intended that results from this project will assist Southland communities, councils and funders with facility planning in the future. |
