During the year Venture Southland has continued to address many of the strategic issues facing Southland’s economy and communities. Progress has also been made on a wide range of opportunities and initiatives.

The Our Way Southland report, commissioned by the Southland local authorities and prepared after extensive consultation, identified Venture Southland as a key agency in addressing issues and opportunities in Enterprise, Tourism and Community Development. Venture Southland’s Strategic Plan 2006-2016 reflects the Our Way Southland report and priorities.

Venture Southland will continue to proactively address issues and opportunities in the sectors and services that form the foundation stones for Southland’s development. These include energy, transport, communication and resources and the potential growth in tourism.
