Bluff Signpost
Bluff is the oldest European town in NZ, settled since 1824. William Stirling purchased land from the Maori before the Treaty of Waitangi, imported cattle and pigs and cultivated 60 acres of land to service whaling bases. He is remembered in the name 'Stirling Point', the site of an international signpost and start of walking tracks.

Percy Burn Viaduct Tuatapere
One of the biggest timber viaducts ever built in New Zealand, the Percy Burn viaduct in the Waitutu State Forest, 20 km west Tuatapere, Southland, is 125 metres long by 35 metres high. It is made of Australian hardwood, and was opened in 1923.
